Coens is an Art & Design studio founded by Coen Hoogstraten. The studio works on self initiated and commissioned projects. The autonomous work strengthened the commissioned work and vise-versa. Coens works both in interior (products) and exterior (art installations). Every project starts with a strong ambition to realize an imagination. A concept is often developed into an Art installations first. The installation determines if is translated into an interior object.
Through the last year Coen is drawn into the light (technology), where he now stays for a while. Coens started presenting his first light designs on events like the Dutch Design Week (Einhoven), TodaysArt (The Hague) and the Luminale (Frankfurt).
Coens launched the etree june 2009 which will be produced in small circulation and available for wholesale this fall.
