behind the moon 23/1/2015

A woman approached me with a beautiful yet very said request. She was slowly dying from cancer and she wanted to leave her children with a sculpture made in memory of their mother. She told me about her love for the moon, and the special role it had played in her family.

I used topographical data (displacement + texture map) and laser sintering in order the make a exact (scaled) replica of the moon.

(I'm studying ways to improve the 3D print quality)
