Functional products, never though of in a aesthetic point of view, can contain amazing aesthetic elements. The fiber structure of a broom is beautiful. But we only see the broom while we are cleaning, not the most attractive context. Maybe we can’t really see the fiber structure at all.
A small Dim sum table, made out of to (XL) brooms connected with a shelf, shows the broom without its original function. By finishing the broom and shelf with the exact same shape and varnish, the wooden parts melt together. Hereby the old broom is now totally disconnected from the object.
